Pitt Bacteremia Score is a numerical score given to patients with bloodstream infections. It tells the level of risk of mortality in patients within 14 days. Originally, the Pitt bacteremia score was used as an early mortality risk predictor for only bloodstream infections but many studies have revealed the effectiveness of this medical algorithm with many other bacteremia and non-bacteremic infections.
